Sarah strives to be compassionate in working with her clients. There are many moving pieces in adoption and surrogacy journeys. Sarah’s role is to help guide clients through the legal process so they can focus on the exciting moments of building their family.
Sarah is an adoption and surrogacy attorney and established her law firm with a focus on assisting clients in growing their families. Sarah began practicing in the areas of assisted reproductive technology and family-building law early on in private practice, alongside a mentor. The rewarding nature of this work and wonderful clients led her to build a practice in these areas.
Sarah attended Drake University Law School and Des Moines University, earning Juris Doctorate and Master of Health Care Administration degrees. Sarah began her legal career as a law clerk, based out of Webster County, for the District Court Judges in Iowa Judicial Sub-District 2B. Following her term as a law clerk, Sarah practiced health care, adoption, and surrogacy law at a large firm in Des Moines, prior to founding Sarah E. Wilson Law Firm.
Sarah is originally from central Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University for her undergraduate education. For several years prior to returning to school and her home state of Iowa to begin her legal career, Sarah worked in the health care industry in South Carolina, where her spouse served in the Marine Corps. Sarah and her family have now again grown roots in central Iowa where her practice is based.
Beyond her legal practice, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, including her black lab and dachshund mix rescue dog, getting outdoors locally and in the Colorado mountains for hiking, camping, and snowshoeing. Sarah is also passionate about giving back to the community by volunteering and serving on boards and committees for non-profit organizations. As a Latina and her family having been greatly impacted by breast cancer, Sarah devotes wholehearted support to these communities.
